Who writes for Perspectives? New, or published, writers challenging their imaginative ability by giving inanimate objects and animals human qualities.  Observe and write about the world through an object’s perspective.  Excluding pornographic or offensive language (cursing, race or sexual orientation), the sky’s the limit.  Need suggestions? How about revealing the world from the perspective of:

A seed. How does the seed feel as it’s buried in the dark ground? Is it painful to grow roots?Does it feel worthless because it’s small, or confident that its purpose is enough?

A paper. What does it think words are? What is its inner dialogue as an enamored lover is penning their thoughts?  Does the paper see the lover’s face blushing? Perhaps someone is writing a suicide note. Does the paper feel the writer’s anguish?  How does it feel to be stuffed into an envelope?

A brain. What is a thought?  What does it feel during a synapse?  What does it think when a body part is paralyzed?  Where does it send dreams and how does it choose symbols?

A womb. What is it feeling as the fetus grows?  What does the womb see?  What does it hear?  Does the baby talk?  What does innocent life smell like?

An ocean. What is the ocean's perspective regarding waves?  Tsunamis?  Schools of fish?

A hurricane. How does it feel when it descends from the sky to earth?  How does it feel when it uproots homes and trees?
